A certain, concentrated look Sarah has when she’s cooking a new recipe. – Boom!
When she says something brilliant, intuitive and perceptive to a coaching client. – Boom!
When she has the covers pulled up to her chin, and her red hair is flowing all over her pillow. – Boom!
Coming up to me, putting her hand on my chest, and she tells me all that I provide for her. – Boom!
These are all moments when I fell in love with her – again and again and again.
Our number one overall goal is to be in love.
For Sarah and I, our intention is to fall in love every day. And I’m glad to say that we achieve this goal because we put our attention, energy and effort into it. Goals are the hallmark of Partnership, and intention is how we move towards those goals. Some of our goals are small, like keeping the kitchen clean. Some of our goals are big, like taking trips and building a Partnership community. But always, our number one overall goal is to be in love.
Partnership begins with intention.
Partnership is a synergistic relationship that begins with intention. We think of Partnership as success principles applied to relationships. Intention, in this case, has a very specific definition centered on conscious choice. So with Partnership, we choose how we want our relationship to be. With intention, I’ve trained my brain to look for these precious moments.
All success principles that we implement in our Partnership, from Napoleon Hill to Deepak Chopra, state that every success begins with intention. For example, Napoleon Hill mentions in Think and Grow Rich that a man named Edwin Barnes became Thomas Edison’s partner “because he chose a definite goal, and placed all his energy, all his willpower and all his effort into achieving that goal.”
“Intention combined with detachment leads to life-centered, present-moment awareness.”
Deepak Chopra – The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success
Deepak Chopra states in The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, “Intention combined with detachment leads to life-centered, present-moment awareness. And when action is performed in present-moment awareness, it is most effective. The future is created in the present.”
Borrowing from these two quotes, Sarah & I have a definite goal and put all of our energy into achieving it with present-moment awareness. If there is a moment when we don’t feel connected (love is the emotion of connection), then we are aware of it and take action to course correct back into love.
“A couple in Partnership is a couple in love.”
My role in this crazy, often disconnected world is to be an inspiration for others to choose Partnership. Thus I am quoting myself today as an illustration and means to further illuminate Partnership so that you, too, might be inclined to choose Partnership. Because, as John Gray (author of How To Get What You Want and Want What You Have) explains, “We all have a significant role in the world. We are all needed in the world in some way.” Whatever role you play, Partnership will get you there.
Whatever role you play, Partnership will get you there.
Tomorrow, I’ll talk about the 4 Elements of Intention so that you can choose to move towards your goals at an accelerated rate. And if I had it all my way, you would make one of those goals to fall in love everyday with your sweetheart.
Thank you for reading.
